What you need for this Tikka Masala sauce recipe

Equipment: You will need a food processor or blender.

And besides that :

  • coconut milk
  • cashew nuts
  • curry powder
  • Garam masala
  • chili powder

How to Make Tikka Masala Sauce

Heat the vegan butter in a casserole dish or saucepan. When hot, add the garlic and onions and sauté for about 4 minutes. Transfer to food processor or blender.

Add again the coconut milk, cashews, curry powder, garam masala, chili powder, ginger, cumin, diced tomatoes, coriander and finally a pinch of salt and pepper. Process until everything is smooth.

Store it in an airtight container and it is best to consume it after about 3 days.

It’s a fantastic sauce that enhances any dish. It can be made in advance, which is convenient for meal prep because it is very versatile for many things.

Advice

Try fresh chili peppers instead of powder, but start with a small amount if you don’t like it hot.

I imagine that instead of cashews, almonds would also be delicious.

Instead of diced tomatoes, you can replace them with unsalted tomato sauce or tomato paste.

Can I freeze this? Yes you can. Just use freezer bags or properly sealed containers.

  • 2 teaspoons of curry powder
