What you need for this cheese puffs recipe

Flour And baking powder: I use all-purpose flour and baking powder, but you can also use self-rising flour. Keep in mind, however, that in this case you won’t need baking powder.

Seasonings: garlic, onion powder And paprika for incredible flavor. I can say after testing that it’s a great seasoning blend that makes the Cheese Puffs so delicious.

Dairy-free butter And milk: Butter gives a rich taste that adds another layer of flavor to the dough. The milk, and I use non-dairy milk, is there to thin the dough.

Green onions And vegan bacon are both incredible. You get great texture from the green onions and lots of flavor from the bacon bits.

Finally, vegan cheddar cheese that’s what makes these puffs so good. Cheesy and undeniably delicious in every bite.

How to make cheese puffs

This will make 12 cheese puffs.

Preheat oven to 410F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a small skillet, heat 1 teaspoon of oil or butter. Cook your bacon according to package directions, which is done after 4 minutes.

Next, mix the dough. Take a large mixing bowl and combine flour, baking powder, cheddar cheese, bacon bits, green onions, butter, milk, garlic, onion powder, paprika and a pinch of salt and pepper.

To form the Cheese Puffs, you have two options: You can form balls of dough with your hands or use tablespoons to form them.

Spread on your baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes, then serve.

Tips and tricks

Leftovers keep perfectly in the refrigerator for 3 days.

To freeze: Let the Cheese Puffs cool completely and add to a freezer bag or make individual portions. Freeze for 3 months.

To reheat: you can reheat your choux in the oven for 5 minutes.
