What Ingredients Are Needed to Make Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta

What makes this recipe so simple is how few ingredients you actually need to make it. And the ones you need are basic household products that you probably have on hand at all times.

You will of course need some pasta, some basics like vegan butter and olive oil, a medium sized onion, some garlic and of course some chicken fillets (plant based ).

Delicious Cajun seasoning should also be on the list, along with vegan cream cheese, Parmesan, and dairy-free heavy cream. That’s all!

Can I use store-bought Cajun seasonings for this recipe?

What sets this recipe apart from classic Alfredo sauce is obviously the Cajun seasoning. For this, you can use store-bought Cajun seasonings for convenience.

My strong recommendation is to pay attention to the salt content of such seasoning. If it contains a significant amount of salt, be very careful adding more salt later in this recipe.

However, you can also make your own homemade Cajun seasoning by combining spices like paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt and black pepper to a personalized flavor.

The spiciness of Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta can vary depending on the amount of Cajun seasoning you use. If you prefer a milder dish, use less Cajun seasoning or choose a mild Cajun seasoning blend. To increase the heat, add more Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper.

What type of pasta is best for Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta?

Fettuccine is the traditional and most commonly used pasta for Alfredo sauce. The wide, flat noodles provide a good surface area for the rich, creamy Alfredo sauce to cling to, creating a harmonious balance of flavors and textures. The smooth, silky texture of the fettuccine perfectly complements the velvety Alfredo sauce.

However, you can also use other pasta shapes if you prefer or don’t have fettuccine on hand. Linguine, pappardelle or even spaghetti can go well with Alfredo sauce. Ultimately, I choose penne as my pasta choice for this recipe.

Whatever you decide, remember that the sauce needs to coat and adhere to the pasta, so shapes with nooks and crannies may not be the best choice for a creamy homemade Alfredo sauce.

What can I serve with Cajun Chicken Alfredo Pasta?

When serving Alfredo pasta, it is important to choose accompaniments that complement the dish and provide a balanced meal. Side dishes should offer a blend of taste, texture and nutrition.

Some good options to consider include a simple green salad, garlic bread, roasted vegetables, tomato basil bruschetta, sautéed or steamed spinach, Caprese salad, antipasto platter and roasted mushrooms.

These side dishes are great choices because they offer a variety of flavors and textures that complement the Alfredo pasta. They are also easy to prepare and will ensure your meal is a success.
